Hello I’m Sigrun Hukill!
“My Medium is Clay…..The Language is Love”
Born into an artist family and growing up in postwar Munich Germany, my life was surrounded
by art from the start.
Nevertheless I needed to learn that even my many many travels, either to Europe’s vibrant cities,
or across the Atlantic to the American continent, or to the hidden islands of the Pacific didn’t help me find the slumbering Artist within.
It was not until I met my wonderful husband Jeff Hukill, a great artist and painter, who’s steady encouragement inspired me to enroll and take a sculpture class. There I found I LOVED CLAY and immediately it became my medium. It was like a divine hand had struck a match and ignited the flame, and now the fire of being an artist is burning brightly in my heart.
I was so fortunate to study under the knowledgeable sculptor Carol Cook, and to this day under the generous guidance of my beloved Professor Marty Ray at Northlake College in Irving, Texas where
I received the Best of Show award at the 2010 Student Show for
